Old guard Sinoun scores four in Police rout

Veteran Nut Sinoun, who has represented several prominent clubs in his long domestic career, enjoyed one of his best days on the pitch in recent outings, scoring four of the 11 goals as National Police took apart Kratie in their Hun Sen Cup tie at the Olympic Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The free-scoring nature of the victory will surely have helped 2014 winners Police recover some confidence after poor results in both cup and league campaigns. Cambodia international Sun Vandeth helped himself to a brace as did substitute Noun Borey. Captain Say Piseth along with Ol Ravy and Tit Dina completed the Police tally.

Keo Sokpheng led Phnom Penh Crown’s goal riot at the RSN Stadium where the home side handed out a 15-0 drubbing to Kampong Speu. Sokpheng struck six goals, with In Sodavid, his able ally in most of the attacking moves, scoring four. Chhuot Sengteang bagged a brace, while Pov Punvuthy, Seut Baraing and Yeu Muslim grabbed a goal each.

Despite the clean sheet, coach Meas Channa would have been happier with a higher scoreline than the 4-0 away win NagaWorld recorded against Siem Reap. The Naga booty was shared by Chheng Meng, Son Panha, Sos Suhana and Thorn Darapich.

Western Phnom Penh stretched a slender 2-1 first half lead to a 6-1 win over Pailin, while CMAC United had a tough time getting the measure of Kampot before the Metfone C-League side chalked up the only goal of the match in the first half to ensure all three points.

The game between Svay Rieng Province and Preah Vihear was abandoned. Home side Svay Rieng were credited with a 3-0 victory without kicking a ball after opponents Preah Vihear failed to show up for the fixture. It has been reliably learned that Preah Vihear have pulled out of the competition due to lack of resources.
